ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY
(Research only degree, not for professional registration purposes)

MTech: (Magister Technologiae)

“A person achieving this qualification will be a competent Architectural Practitioner who can conduct independent research and independently perform professional architectural services in technology and/or design and/or management in the public and/or private sectors or specialised fields within built environment.”(2002 SAQA description)The MTech is offered as a research programme and does not have a primarily professional focus. It does not carry professional validation, nor is there any intention to apply for such validation.

The strategic objective of the Master of Technology (MTech) course is the development of research methods that enable post graduate students to undertake investigations into a range of fields.

Career Opportunities
Graduates play an important and direct role in architectural practices. They are also employed in the research and teaching positions at Higher Education institutions.
