SOMATOLOGY (In the process of being phased out and no new applications will be considered as of 2024. Only returning second year and third year students can apply for 2024)

ND: (National Diploma)

The course in Somatology is ideally suited to the dedicated and mature person who has an interest in health and skincare, and seeks to become a well-trained Somatologist. The course is comprehensive and exacting and only those who are really committed will experience the satisfaction of success through diligent study.The emphasis is on theoretical and practical proficiency. Towards the end of the third year, students have the option of entering for the CIDESCO examination, which is internationally recognised and highly recommended.

Career Opportunities
Challenging career opportunities exist in health and skincare clinics, cruise liners and spas where the graduate gains further practical experience which often leads to the establishment of their own business in this rewarding field.

Experiential Learning
Experiential learning in the Department�s Wellness Clinic takes place in the second and third years of study, and experiential learning in health and skincare clinics unrelated to the University takes place in the third year of study.
Offering Type and Duration
Full-Time / Three years, including experiential learning.
Course is offered on District Six Campus.
