To equip students with the knowledge, skills and discipline to operate in an accounting environment as a member of an accounting team.
Career Information
There is an increasing focus on the manner in which a business is conducted and administered. The management seeks to ensure that the organisation adheres to the statutory requirements governing its activities. The main task of the accountant is to perform the company secretarial functions in an organistion as well as assisting management in fulfilling its responsibilities in terms of drafting financial statements. In order to equip the accountant (company secretary) with the necessary skills, emphasis is placed on the development of:
- Financial Accounting Skills
- Company Secretarial and Administrative Skills
- Communication and Reporting Writing Skills
