INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

BTech: (Baccalaureus Technologiae)

The course prepares students for professional careers or advanced studies in Information Technology and promotes the discovery, dissemination and application of knowledge involving Information Technology.
Career Information
Although classes will only be taught in one time block (4:30-7:30pm) students may still register for either full-time or part-time studies. Full-time implies that the student intends to graduate in one year, and is aimed at non-working students. The part-time offering is aimed at students who are currently in full-time employment and have limited study time. It is strongly recommended that working students do not try to complete their B Tech in one year as the academic load is simply too much. All B Tech subjects will be taught again in 2024to allow “pipeline” students who still have some subjects outstanding to complete their degree.
Career Opportunities
The widespread use of computers has resulted in an ongoing need for a wide range of highly skilled information technology personnel. As the field is subject to rapid technological change, it requires professionals who are well-trained, who keep up-to-date with the latest developments, and who can engage future trends and developments in the field.
