SURFACE DESIGN

BTech: (Baccalaureus Technologiae)

The course is structured to equip students to function responsibly in a creative environment. Students must be able to adapt to aesthetic, economic and technological advances in order to understand the influence of political, cultural and social trends on design.This specialist qualification is geared to prepare students for their individual career choices and to enter the global design community with confidence.

Career Opportunities
Students decide whether their careers may best be served in the surface and lifetyle design industries, for instance the fashion industry, trend prediction, merchandising, home textiles, wallpaper design, fabric buying, social outreach, range co-ordination or other related surface design industries.

Compulsory subject(s):

For the duration of the course, the student is placed under the guidance of a supervisor, for both the practical and theoretical or written research components of the course.At the end of the period of study, the student must have completed a written report and a body of work, which will be exhibited on campus. A panel of staff, assisted by external moderators, will assess the exhibition.
