Course Information and Fees

TOWN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

BTech: (Baccalaureus Technologiae)

The aim of the course is to prepare graduates to operate with greater independence than National Diploma graduates, and to approach planning problems in an holistic manner, having regard for the nature of the profession which addresses land use, socio-economic, legal and environmental issues and managerial issues.
Career Opportunities
Town and regional planners are employed in both the private and public sectors, locally and abroad. The nature of the work varies from diverse and generalist tasks, to specialized projects. Generalisation or specialisation in the field becomes a matter of personal preference as the graduate develops in the career. The nature of town planning demands constant consultation with related professions such as environmentalists, urban designers, architects and legal professionals. Such consultation may also include communication with the general public and local communities.
