Course Information and Fees

This course ensures that students are educated as future managers in the hospitality industry. The emphasis is on efficient management, backed by a thorough practical knowledge of the hospitality industry. Emphasis is on sufficient practical supported by theory and the student will be working in well equipped culinary laboratories as well as in the Cape Town Hotel School training kitchen.

 

Career Opportunities
This course is offered for men and women who are interested in making accommodation service management their profession – whether a hotel or boutique hotel.

Postgraduate admission requirements

NSC Rating 4. English Rating 4. Student with a Science subject (Physical Science, Biology or Hospitality and Tourism, Home Economics) will be considered and Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy or Accounting will be a recommendation. Students with exposure to the hospitality industry will be beneficial. Certified copies of NSC must be presented on registration.

All of the above subjects are assessed on a continuous evaluation basis and no formal examination is written.

 

Offering Type and Duration
Full-Time / Three years of full-time study.
The course comprises two years of academic study and two semesters of experiential learning. Students do experiential learning from December of the first year to the end of the first semester of the second year and in the second semester of the third year.

 

Course is offered on Granger Bay Campus. (Accommodation is offered at the Cape Town Hotel School, Beach Road, Mouille Point, Cape Town)
