NHC: (national higher certificate)
To equip students with the knowledge, analytical skills and discipline to effectively operate at entry or junior level of the accountancy profession.The National Higher Certificate in Accountancy is the entry-level qualification for candidates who wish to proceed in their third year to one of the following qualifications:
- National Diploma Accounting
- National Diploma Cost and Management Accounting
- National Diploma Internal Auditing
Career Opportunities
There is an increasing focus on the way in which a business is conducted and administered. The management seeks to ensure that the organisation adheres to the statutory requirements governing its activities as well as providing reliable financial information. The main task of accountants is to process and maintain financial information for decision-making purposes. Among other things, the work involves:
- Maintaining accurate and reliable financial records
- Drafting financial statements for management purposes
- Drafting reports for decision-making purposes
