TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY (DISCONTINUED)

BTech: (Baccalaureus Technologiae)

Graduates conduct research in a specialised area of textile technology and create appropriate responses, contributing towards a deeper knowledge of the textile industry.The development of the themes, organisation, technology, science, and textile production, continues into the BTech and students are required to develop an in-depth understanding of these subject areas.

Students are required to prove analytical skills through the preparation of research projects on selected aspects of textile technology and production.

Career Information
The Western Cape has one of the largest concentrations of textile manufacturers in the country, as well as being the home of the national clothing industry. It provides a variety of career opportunities to suitably qualified technologists in the textile, clothing, retail and supply businesses. In addition, industrial textiles is a growing sector servicing industries as diverse as home textiles and mining.Employment opportunities include manufacturing, buying, quality management, design and marketing.
